Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is widely discussed in the fashion and lifestyle industry but there is no accurate measure by which companies can benchmark their views and performance against other companies. CSR Asia and 3p Institute have therefore conducted the first Global Survey of CSR activities. the survey was sent to over 1,500 fashion and lifestyle companies from 10 countries. Although each company was approached individually the survey had less than an 8% response rate. The aim of the survey was to provide companies with a gloabl snapshot of CSR in 2007 and benchmark individual  companies if they desire against industry-wide perceptions and performance. All of the information collected in this survey from participating companies has been kept strictly confidential and no company is named in the final report.

Within our actual shrimps project in Bangladesh an expansion will be taking place. The production range will include biological shrimps soon. In this frame the cooperation with SIPPO - Swiss Import Promotion Program and the University of Oldenburg will be intensified and at the same time the activities concerning the whole sector will be extended. SIPPO sustainably and effectively promotes the competitivness of emerging markets and markets in transition. By using trade promotion programs and the associated matchmaking instruments, SIPPO helps small and medium-sized enterprises in emerging markeds and markets in transition. Thus more input and support will ameliorate the trading possibilities of the shrimps sector in Bangladesh.

3p promotes the new ASA-program: “Concepts for the amelioration of the earning ability of countrymen, trades people and fishermen”. The NGO “Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation” (JPIC) initiates sustainable development for the support of disadvantaged groups in the regions of Mindano and Visayas in cooperation with the “Society of Divine World” / Steyler Mission. The focus lies on educational measures, economic and communal development and the promotion of women and children. The development of concepts shall be supported by participants of the ASA-program who can insert their economic knowledge to detect new possibilities. ON this basis ASA servitors create corporate concepts. With the staff of JPIC and students of the University of San Carlos at least two economic studies will be conducted focussing questions of feasibility, requirements and capacities concerning the marketing of local products. The period for the internship will be from July till September 2008. This is the first practical cooperation with the Alanus University in Alfter while the contact person for this program is the student Florian Spathelf.
